Description
Be picked up from your Hobart city accommodation or join at the meeting point at 09:15 for a 2.5-hour tour to and from the summit of Mt Wellington. Crowned by alpine vegetation and dusted by snow in the winter, Mount Wellington allows each visitor to catch a glimpse of the unfolding panorama of rivers, fields, and the aquatic setting of Hobart city. On this tour you will see St. David’s Park as well as Anglesea Barracks, Australia’s oldest army facility. You will also see fine examples of early Hobart homes in South Hobart. Experience the pretty mountain town of Ferntree and pass through various eco-systems as you climb the mountain. Observe the massive rock formation of the Organ Pipes and explore Mount Wellington Summit, a harsh rocky alpine environment affording unsurpassed views on a clear day. You can also admire the panoramic spectacle of Hobart, its surrounding suburbs, towns, and vast waterways. You will also visit the remains of the Female Factory, once the home to a female prison before it was relocated to Macquarie Street. The tour concludes at Brooke Street Pier in Hobart at approximately 11:30.Includes
