Description

This day tour includes a 10km bush walk to Mars Bluff on the Cape Queen Elizabeth track. It also includes a picnic lunch with a pack of fresh meats, salads, island cheeses and fresh wood-oven bread. Visit the Neck Wildlife Zone - Lagoons, secluded beaches, dunes, ocean waves, cliffs and local food producers including the famous Get Shucked Oyster Bar and Bruny Island Honey. The tour departs Hobart at 7:30 AM and returns by approximately 6:00 PM. Departing from the greater Hobart region, this fully guided Bruny Island walking tour begins near the Bruny Island Air Field. With spectacular views, this is an easy walk within the Bruny Island Neck Game Reserve. Backpacks, poles, gaiters, and stools are provided for your ease and comfort. The Cape Queen Elizabeth walk provides coastal heathland with spectacular scenery, lagoons, birdlife, and beaches. The first part of the walk takes you along a track parallel with the Bruny Island air-strip, then runs between Big Lagoon and Little Lagoon, before steeply ascending Mars Bluff for stunning views across The Neck and its unspoiled beaches. Mars Bluff is one of Bruny Islands most iconic natural rock features. The track follows the bluff before descending through the dunes onto the remote Miles Beach, with time for a quick dip for those who are keen. Here you can enjoy a casual and delicious packed lunch, featuring local produce. After the walk, you will be driven to the viewing platform to enjoy the view of the Neck Wildlife Zone. This is followed by a visit to the islands local food producers, with stops at Bruny Island Honey and Get Shucked Oyster Bar.
