Travel West towards the magnificent wilderness, passing alongside Tasmania’s Hydro-Electric history with a bird’s eye view of massive feats of human engineering! Stop in the quirky village of Tarraleah for some great views from the local lookout. Head to Lake St. Clair National Park. Stand beside Australia’s deepest lake, carved out by ice over the last two million years. Choose from a range of short walks to explore beautiful forests and wild rivers, or relax lakeside, enjoy the scenery, indulge in some photography and take in the spectacular setting. Move on to the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, surrounded by Tasmanian temperate rainforest. Learn the stories of the area and the fascinating Australian political history that played out here. Take a short uphill hike to Donaghy’s Hill Wilderness Lookout for 360-degree views of mountains, wilderness, and aboriginal history as far as the eye can see. Finally, after a full day out west, arrive back in Hobart around 6:30 PM.Includes
