Found in Hobart’s historic and picturesque wharf area and across from the Grand Chancellor Hotel, The Saffron is one of Hobart’s premier Indian restaurants, persuading locals and visitors to swap the traditional Tasmanian seafood dishes for exotic and spicy delights.
Of course, diners can still choose from several seafood options – including prawn masala and goan fish curry – yet the meats, sauces and vegetables are a joy to behold. Each entree is specially prepared and presented with the magic touch of their experienced chefs, who ensure that each dish explodes with unique flavours. The menu here is designed around authentic North Indian & Kashmiri cuisine, boasting a large range of tandoori and other curry-based dishes that are cooked by chefs who have worked in five star deluxe hotels in India.
What’s more, there is an impressive drinks and wine list that will undoubtedly complement whatever meal you go for, all served by a polite and attentive staff.
Lunch: Monday - Saturday, 11.30am - 2.30pm.
Dinner: Daily, 5pm - 10pm.
