Best Golf in Tasmania

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Tasmania team

With over 80 courses throughout the state Tasmania is a great place to come to for a golfing holiday. Tasmania has fourteen 18 hole courses with the rest being 9 hole. There are 5 courses which provide accommodation, including Barnbougle Dunes Cottages, Shearwater Resort, Country Club Tasmania Resort, Aspect Tamar Valley Resort and Quamby Golf and Country Club.

There is an amazing variation in the courses throughout Tasmania from the outstanding International standard links courses such as Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm to the out of way course that are maintained by loyal volunteers such as Mountain Vista in Waratah. You can also play on the Ratho Course which is the oldest continually operating course outside of Scotland and is setup as courses of old with fenced off square greens to exclude the four legged lawnmowers (sheep). The Golf Course Guide's list of the top 100 Australian public access courses for 2012 lists Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm as number 1 and 2 respectively. Other Tasmanian courses to make the top 100 are: Tasmania Golf Course, Royal Hobart, Kingston Beach and Ulverstone. If you enjoy golf you'll enjoy Tasmania.
