Description
Begin with a self-guided tour of Devils@Cradle Wildlife Sanctuary at your own pace. This conservation reserve is located at the entrance to Cradle Mountain National Park and focuses on Tasmanian Devils, as well as Spotted-tail and Eastern quolls.
Your nighttime feeding tour starts with an introduction to these three marsupial carnivores on the main viewing deck. Then, accompanied by a zookeeper, enjoy a guided walk inside the sanctuary. The zookeeper feeds the animals while explaining their behavior, biology, threats, and conservation status. You can ask questions throughout the tour.
The sanctuary uses environmentally sensitive lighting to observe the nocturnal Tasmanian Devils’ social interactions and feeding habits, offering an uncommon opportunity to see them in a group feeding situation.

Important Information
- General sanctuary entry is included. Visitors may explore the sanctuary between 9:30 am and 5 pm and join Day Keeper Tours.
- The tour is outdoors and operates in all weather, so dress accordingly.
- Devils@Cradle is approximately a 2-hour drive from Launceston.
- The sanctuary features uneven ground, steps, natural woodchip paths, platforms, and compacted gravel.
- Wheelchair access is available via reception to the main viewing deck and a side gate. Not all areas are accessible, but staff can accommodate most requests with advance notice.
