Description

Dysart House has housed the fully functioning Old Kempton Distillery since November 2015. The distillery produces a range of spirits including single malt whisky, gin, and liqueurs made with 100% Tasmanian ingredients.

The tour begins with an introduction to Dysart House’s history and an overview of the distillation process. Guests then tour the distillery and bond store to see barrels maturing whisky in various sizes and shapes.

Stories of ghosts are part of the house’s history, adding intrigue during your visit. Afterwards, relax in the Cask Lounge located in the historic coaching inn that operates as the Old Kempton cellar door. The experience concludes with a guided tasting of four Old Kempton Distillery products.

Lunch is available daily and is recommended. Options include local Tasmanian antipasto platters, Devonshire tea, and daily specials. The café serves cocktails, coffee, and additional tastings from 10 AM to 4 PM every day; these are not included in the tour price.

The visit finishes in the Cellar Door shop where you can purchase Old Kempton spirits and souvenirs as mementos of your experience.
