Tasman Island Cruises
Tasmania
Tasman Island Cruises show you the spectacular coastline of the Tasman Peninsula, including the highest sea cliffs in Australia. You will enter deep sea caves and are guaranteed to see seals on Tasman Island and Cathedral Rock. Your will see plenty of other marine and bird life and the surprise is just what will it be. Dolphins, whales, gannets, sea eagles and albatross are all often sighted.
After years of experience operating cruises, custom designed boats are now used that are best suited to their eco-cruises, The yellow boats have superb manoeuvrability allowing close viewing of the rugged coastline and sea and birdlife.
The crew of two love their work, if you could call it that, and know the area and its history inside out. Learn about the lightkeepers of Tasman Island and the hair-raising way to access the island.
Take in the wildlife and scenery with a 3 hour cruise from Port Arthur or bus up from Hobart for a full day trip. The 3 hour cruise operates between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck, usually leaving from Port Arthur but depending on prevailing conditions, the direction may be reversed, so it's a good idea to get to the booking office at Port Arthur 40 minutes before the departure time.
10am cruise departs daily, except Christmas Day
2pm cruise operates between 15 December to 15 April
Pennicott Wilderness Journeys also run Bruny Island Cruises.
