Trowunna Wildlife Park
Tasmania
Trowunna Wildlife Park at Mole Creek is a 65 acre sanctuary that's been caring for native Tasmanian animals for more over 30 years. Conservation and education are priorities at Trowunna with daily interactive tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, which include the chance to pat one of their many Tasmanian Devils. If it is Tasmanian Devils you want to see you won't be disappointed with Trowunna caring for plenty of Devils. There is a lake and wetlands suited to amphibians and waterfowl. Alpine grassland, shrubland and mixed sclerophyll forest suit the kangaroos, wallabies, pademelons, bettongs, wombats and birds.
In caring for injured and orphaned wildlife, a soft release program finds success by allowing animals, when they get to a certain stage, to wander around the park whilst still being monitored, rather than direct return to the wild.
Utilise the picnic tables or bbqs to enjoy a full day here.
