Freycinet Vineyard
Tasmania
Established in 1978, the Freycinet Vineyard was the first commercial winery on the East Coast of Tasmania. Geoff and Susan Bull were inspired by the tremendous opportunities of the area and have since emerged as pioneers in producing quality wines from the region.
Today their daughter Lindy and partner Claudio Radenti are also part of the family owned and operated business, taking over the tradition of creating gently handcrafted wines. As well as being graduate winemakers, both grew up around wineries and between them have a wealth of practical experience from wineries around Australia and the world.
The Freycinet Vineyard produces both red and white wine including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Merlot and Sauvignon varieties. All of which are grown, vinified and bottled on the estate.
The Freycinet goal is to grow a moderate yeild of fully ripened healthy fruit from well-balanced vines. Hand pruning, shoot thinning/positioning, leaf plucking and hand picking is carried out to achieve this.
