Pooley Wines was established in 1985 when the late Denis and Margaret Pooley planted ten rows of Riesling and seven rows of Pinot Noir on their 16-hectare farm at Cooinda Vale in the Coal River Valley. A second property, Belmont Lodge near Richmond was added in 2003 and this houses the cellar door in old sandstone stables.
Pooley Wines took home eighteen medals and two trophies at the 2011 Tasmanian Wine Show. They also won the 2012 Tasmanian Vineyard of the Year awarded by the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania and at the 2012 Tasmanian Wine Show; Pooley Wines won the Pinot Noir Exhibitor of the Year Trophy.
Their award winning wines are available through our cellar door, by mail order through their web site, or from selected suppliers. Pooley Wines produce Pinot Noirs, Sparkling Pinots, Merlots, Rieslings and Pinot Grigio.
Freight is free with every order of 12 bottles or more.
The Pooley Wine Club offers many benefits of membership including 15% on their wines.
The historic sandstone stables and coach house at Belmont Lodge are available for special functions, group events and weddings.
You can get together a group and have a wine or wine & cheese tasting event. Multiple options are available - booking required, fee applies.
