From Hobart: 5-Day Tasmania West & East Coast Tour
265 ReviewsSee the best of Tasmania’s West and East Coasts in 5 action-packed days on this journey around the island, including visits to all the major attractions.
Found on the historic Salamanca Square, Mezethes blends Tasmanian cuisine with traditional Greek foods to provide wholesome meals that are full of exotic flavours. Set in an old sandstone building, the whitewashed walls and simple furnishings inside compliment the menu perfectly, creating a welcoming and relaxed ambience that is typical with Greek culture.
When it comes to the menu, customers are spoilt for choice. Marinated olives are as good as a starter (or ‘orektika’) as any, served warm and caringly sprinkled with fresh herbs. Lightly floured and tender calamari, barbequed octopus on a bed of salad and potatoes and grilled prawns with a skordalia dip are just some of the awesome mains that are on offer.
Of course, if you are a newbie to Greek food then Mezethes have some handy set menus available too; the ‘Meghalo Mezethes’ should only be tried if you are willing to face a mountain of food!
