Monty's on Montpelier
A mere five minutes walk from Hobart's famous Salamanca Place, Monty's on Montpellier is home to a relaxed and welcoming dining experience. Serving contemporary Tasmanian style cuisine, they use local and fresh produce to get the best flavours possible, like the Mount Gnomon Wessex Saddleback pork, Coal River Valley venison and Cape Grim beef.
In addition to possibly the best cheese selection in the area, you can choose personally selected wines sourced from local wineries such as Woody Nook and Moo Brew. (Bring your own bottled wine is available at $10 per person with no bottle limit).
Although the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, the food is extravagant and luxurious, with dishes like the aged 'Black Angus' eye fillet with twice cooked chips, free range egg and crisp serrano jamon, finished with a nebbiolo ver juice glaze and roasted mushrooms. Very fancy.
