The Mt Wellington Descent is a challenge without being too physically demanding or scary. Take the minibus from the Brooke Street Pier to the summit of 1270m Mt Wellington. There you will be fitted out with a bike, helmet and safety vest to suit. Following the safety briefing set off with your guide and enjoy a wonderful ride. Several stops will be made to take in the views. When the foothills are reached you will have a choice of trying an off-road section or continuing on down the main road, meeting back up near the Cascade Brewery and Gardens. The last 5km back to the pier are fairly flat so the pedalling is easy.
Fully enclosed shoes are required to undertake this memorable activity.
