The Brunswick Hotel
Tasmania
Entering its 186th year as a continually licensed pub and hotel, the historic Brunswick Hotel holds a fascinating history; having started as an illegal grog shop, it needed major revamping after a fire in 1926. Brunswick now boasts an interior which brings the past back to life but with the necessary modern touches that compliment the original 1827 sandstone and brick fireplaces and walls.
The food here in particular is not to be missed. Some of the delectable treats on offer include crispy skin pork belly, warmed Charmoula vegetable salad, oven baked half shell scallops and Doo Town venison gourmet sausages. If it’s a hot day, why not grab a -17 chilled beer while you’re at it?
As for what to do in the evenings, every Thursday Brunswick plays host to ‘$5 Bubbles & Live Music Night’, whilst Saturday from 8pm to 11pm there is even more music to dance to, not to mention great deals on cocktails.
Opening times:
Monday – Saturday, 11.30am – Late.
