Puddleduck Vineyard produces fantastic cool climate wines and is located in the Coal River Valley. If the name isn't enough to draw you in, Puddleduck Vineyard was the winner of the 2012 Tourism Tasmania Award for Best Tourism Winery. This quirky vineyard is a small, family-owned business that firmly believes in quality over quantity.
Situated just 20 minutes outside of Hobart's CBD, it's a good stop-off point en route to Richmond. The vineyard is particularly renowned for its Bubbleduck wine, which tends to sell out quickly. Taster sessions are held at the Cellar Door, which can be accompanied by a tasty cheese platter. Puddleduck also operates a reverse BYO system; instead of bringing your own drink, bring your own food!
Puddleduck Vineyard is an enjoyable day out for the whole family, with children loving the resident wine dogs, Brazil and Polly, as well as the numerous ducks that are usually waddling around the site.
