Bass Fine Wines is in Invermay, just two minutes from the CBD of Launceston. Guy Wagner, the owner/winemaker aims for production of world-class wines and carefully chooses the vineyards he sources from. Established in 1999, Bass Fine Wines constructed a new, modern winery in 2009 at Invermay. Visitors can see daily operations going on through the glass walls such as pressing and bottling.
Owner/winemaker Guy Wagner also makes wines for about 17 small vineyards in Northern Tasmania in addition to his own wines. He produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Specialising in Pinot Noir, his goal is to have one for everyday drinking which is Strait Pinot Noir, Bass Pinot Noir in the premium range and Guy is working on a super-premium one as well.
