Gryphonwood Vineyards grow their grapes at Underwood, just twenty minutes from Launceston. The vineyard was started from scratch by Ben and Melanie and you can purchase their wines online or at Harvest Launceston. Wines are made by Guy Wagner of Bass Fine Wines.

Gryphonwood's One Bunch Pinot 2011 won a Gold medal at the 2012 National Cool Climate Wine Show in Bathurst.
Gryphonwood are at the small end of the scale when it comes to vineyards, where everything is family hands-on in the vineyard. At the farmer's market Harvest Launceston you can talk to Ben about the ups and downs of getting wine to the market. He can fill you in on the effects of monster frosts on vines, co-ordinated attacks by possums or warrior wasps!
