On the north facing side of Tasmania’s Lake Barrington is the very beautiful Lake Barrington Vineyard Estate. Established in 1984 by the Taylor family, they still run and manage the winery today with manager Phil Dolan and Winemaker Alain Rousseau, welcoming visitors on to the grounds. Come and delight in the fantastic wines or have a picnic in the stunning scenery that surrounds this lovely estate.
Due to the cold climate, Lake Barrington Vineyard creates the ideal sparkling wine, named ‘Alexandra’, which is constantly regarded as one of the best wines in the entire state. Some of the delightful wines at the wonderful cellar door that are available to try include Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
You are able to buy these delicious wines from Lake Barrington Vineyard at Rathdowne Cellars in the Australian city of Melbourne, as well as the Tasmanian distributor, Fine Drop Wines, for restaurants and wine merchants.
