Seven Sheds Brewery

Tasmania

Breweries and Distilleries

Welcome to Seven Sheds Brewery, Meadery and Hop Garden. Owned and operated by Willie Simpson and Catherine Stark, Seven Sheds produces its flagship Kentish Ale and seasonal beers as well as honey wines and melomels.

After years of successful home brewing and beer commentating, Willie Simpson has successfully produced a range of hand-crafted beers in the town of Railton. Locally grown ingredients are a feature.

With a focus on fresh local produce to create great flavours, Seven Sheds brewery, meadery and hop garden grows hops on-site using organic methods, uses local honeys and where possible local malts.

After writing 'The Beer Bible' in 2006, Willie Simpson and his partner Catherine Stark opened the Seven Sheds brewery, meadery and hop garden in May 2008. Starting off with Kentish Ale, there are now four permanent beers as well as seasonal brews. Brews include Elephant's trunk, Paradise Pale, Razzamatazz, Stark Raven Oatmeal Stout and Willie Warmer. There is a purpose built tasting room, brewery tours and cellar door sales.

Meads are also made in small batches and include the Melomel (inspired by Tasmania’s black-currants and endemic pepper berries), medium mead, dry and sparkling sweet mead. Cider is also available, usually during spring and summer. Tours are available at 12:00pm and 2:00pm for $10.00 per person, bookings recommended. Tastings, paddles, beer by the glass

and bottle sales are available from 11:00am to 5:00pm (11am-3pm June-August).

On-line sales are available as well as through selected outlets.
