King Island Wilderness Walks is a small local King Island tourism business using minimal impact principles to show case King Island's pristine natural and historic environment. We operate between the months of October through to April.
King Island Wilderness Walks is unique in that it offers guests a variety of day walk options to suit different levels of fitness and fields of interest. Our aim is to give you the opportunity to discover the real King Island through immersing yourself in the environment. If you are an avid birdwatcher, interested in marine history or the environment, enjoy walking or simply just want to relax and get away from it all then this is the journey for you. We do not rush you or have a strict schedule we simply allow you to enjoy the walk.
This is not just another walking company going from A to B our emphasis is on the journey itself. Our guide is a local islander with knowledge, experience and passion for the island and its inhabitants. We are proud of the island, our community, what it has to offer and indulge in sharing it with others. We have a maximum group size of seven people to ensure the trip is personalised and the guide is able to meet individual needs. Whether you are booking with friends, family or on your own the group size is small and welcoming.
We are very passionate about food. As well as walking we ensure the journey includes a gourmet homemade feast of local produce showcasing King Island's premium food culture.
To ensure your comfort and safety we also provide backpacks, rain jackets and gaiters as well as field guides and binoculars. All of the equipment is new and well maintained.
