Come and tackle climbing and abseiling in the beautiful Cataract Gorge or the highest abseil in the world at the Gordon Dam with Adrenalin. No previous experience necessary.
Cataract Gorge
The spectacular Cataract Gorge located in the city of Launceston is a climber's paradise with as many as 300 climbs in the lower gorge, and some 550 climbs in the 6km to the Trevallyn Dam.
Spend a half day with experienced climbing instructors who will teach you safety procedures, basic knot tying skills, and abseiling techniques.
Meeting place is the Penny Royal World Gunpowder Mill Car Park on Paterson St, Launceston and then by foot to the Cataract Gorge.
All climbing equipment is provided.
Minimum age is 10-12 (depending on fitness levels and size)
Tour is suitable for anyone with a good general level of fitness and no previous experience is necessary.
What to Bring/Wear
Clients should wear warm, comfortable clothing that allows plenty of movement, suitable for the weather on the day. For example track suit bottoms, or shorts for warmer weather.

Rock-climbing and abseiling tours depart daily all year round at 9am and 1pm on request.
Costs are $120 per person with a minimum 2 climbers per session. For 1 climber only a $50
supplement is charged.

Gordon Dam
The Gordon River dam is a hydroelectric dam in the southwest of Tasmania. The dam wall is 192 m long and 140m high making it the tallest dam in Tasmania.
This full day tour starts with two smaller abseils of 30m and 50m before tackling the 140m dam wall.
All necessary equipment and instruction provided by Adrenalin's experienced guides.
Minimum age is 18 years
What to bring
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting long trousers, tights or a tracksuit, plus shorts if it's warm
Your footwear should be robust and comfortable - running shoes are suitable
A warm jacket - the weather can change dramatically in the hills
Winter can be very cold so please bring plenty of warm clothing, wear layers and be sure to include a windproof layer such as a rain jacket

If you have long hair, you must tie it back for safety reasons

Lunch can be arranged at the site for between $5 and $40 per person, ranging from salad rolls and fruit to gourmet Tasmanian produce
Pick-up in Hobart by can be arranged (for small groups $10pp, larger groups will need to organise own transport or a bus can be chartered at a cost).
Cost is $210 per person with a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 14.
Abseiling is considered low risk and a very safe experience, and no fitness or previous experience is necessary. A head for heights is an advantage but not required.
