Find Out More

The Scuba Centre at Wynyard has been offering dive courses, charter dives, air fills, equipment sales, service and hire for over two decades.

The Wynyard area has a collection of reefs just two to eight kilometres from the shore. Good diving occurs in the depth 3m-30m. There are rocky walls with sponge gardens, pinnacles and zoanthids. There are plenty of kelp beds, making it a sanctuary for armed seastars, black rays, and numerous fish species.

A wreck dive in the area is the SS Southern Cross.

Other Wynyard diving sites include The Golden Canyon, the Boatharbour Island, the Sanctuary, the Somerset, and the Pickle bottle.
